Cyclone Rimal has inflicted significant damage on the Sundarbans, with 51 dead deer recovered within two days, along with one wild boar. The forest department is actively conducting search operations to assess the extent of damage to wildlife and forest resources. Rising water levels during the cyclone submerged parts of the Sundarbans, displacing wildlife from their habitats. Chief Conservator of Forests, Amir Hossain Chowdhury, emphasized the extensive damage caused, with wildlife like tigers and deer losing their habitats due to flooding. Forest officials have been instructed to document the damage to both flora and fauna. The Sundarbans, a critical ecosystem, faces a challenging recovery process post-cyclone.
